The next Raglan Community Board meeting is on Wed 4 February at 1.30pm in the Supper Room, Raglan Town Hall. The public forum will be near the start of the formal meeting, giving an opportunity to discuss issues. You might prefer to email/phone the Board.
Wednesday’s RCB agenda is 31 pages long and includes –
- Wi Neera St Surfside may buy leases of 2, 4 & 6 Wi Neera St, to build a church auditorium/conference venue and 75 parking spaces for the church on Sundays and public use at other times. [since 2009 the site has had permission for 4 commercial buildings and WDC has kept renewing the consent]
- Wainui Reserve 30 year plan “Wainui Reserve Staged Development plan is currently with partner agencies for key stakeholder engagement. A facilitated session is expected to take place in late Feb/early Mar. Consultation with Tainui o Tainui is taking place through Feb. Next steps following stakeholder engagement will be to develop the draft development plan.”
- Schedule of meetings – 2026 – 6pm on Weds, 4 Feb, 18 Mar, 29 Apr, 10 Jun, 5 Aug, 16 Sep, 28 Oct and 9 Dec, but the resolution to be passed says 1.30pm in the Supper Room [as it did for the last meeting, when RCB decided to keep this meeting at 1.30].
- Signs “Council Monitoring team receive all Service Requests relating to alleged non-compliant signage. All Service Requests are investigated and if non-compliant signs are identified, then the landowner/owner of the sign is contacted to remove/comply.”
- Service Requests “quarterly reports ended 5 years ago. We are not building new service request reports as we are currently moving to a new version of request management. Staff are looking into this request.”
- Stormwater “The last Raglan Tangata Whenua and Key Stakeholders Liaison Group meeting was held on the 2nd July 2025. Our consent requires us to hold these meetings at least once per year. We do not have a date for the next meeting yet, but will arrange the next meeting within the next few months. A copy of the presentation, and the questions raised at the meeting were emailed to the group on the 8th July 2025. Written responses to the questions were subsequentially emailed to the group.”
Works currently underway:
- Government Road stormwater network
- Stewart Street outfall upgrades
- Oram Park stormwater network and outfall upgrades
- Interceptor upgrade works on Wallis Street
- CCTV camera at Papahua expected to be complete in February – not live monitored, but staff or Police can access them for up to 7 days.
- Greenslade Rd Reserve playground waiting for consent.
- Councillor’s and Board Members Reports verbal including Coastguard Lease area
- Discretionary fund has $13,877.04.

Proposed changes to Local Government and Planning
This is being discussed by WDC in a workshop on Tue 3. The agenda sets out the issues.
