The next Raglan Community Board meeting is on Wed 5 August at 1.30pm in the Supper Room, Raglan Town Hall. The public forum will be near the start of the formal meeting, giving an opportunity to discuss issues. You might prefer to email/phone the Board.
Wednesday’s RCB agenda includes –
- Stormwater – Government Rd extending pipes for planned growth, more capacity and reduced contaminants. Nihinihi Ave works aim to address flooding, performance during storms, and align the network with water quality standards. Wainui Rd Stewart St bank stabilisation to reduce coastal erosion risk.
- Sewage “Smith Street. Contractor pricing has been requested for the proposed wastewater pump station rising main replacement.”
- Wainui Reserve The closing reserve balance held by council for Wainui Reserve is $800,858 as at 30 June 2026.
- Ngarunui Boardwalk renewal “like-for-like replacement of the existing boardwalk” awaiting a WRC resource consent as it’s “in a sensitive coastal environment.”
- Manu Bay boat ramp “concrete topping of the boat ramp within its current footprint. This is currently being designed with construction planned for the king tide cycle in midSeptember.”
- Road names RCB is being asked to agree to roads off SH23 at Te Uku being Te Uku Village Road and Tiitoki Drive.
- Playground – Greenslade Rd Reserve Completed. “The grassed areas are part of the playground’s safety fall zone, so we can’t open the site to the public until the grass has grown in a bit more.”
- Papahua pump track “completion is anticipated by 14/08”.
- World Surf League The staff report says food, beverage and retail vendors were included in the resource consent, a cultural assessment is being done by hapu and the Destination Management Organisation and Raglan Naturally have done a community and business impact assessment, yet the DMO is asking for $3,500 from the Discretionary fund for a WSL Economic Analysis.
- Discretionary fund has $9,625. Raglan Mountain Bike Club want $5,000 for track repairs and 1.5km of new trails to Wainui Reserve carpark and a new jump line, St Peters Church Hall want $1,000 for a new roof, Waitetuna School want $5,000 for a pool pump upgrade [the school is just outside the RCB area].
Reports from Chairperson, Board Members and Senior Leadership Team will all be verbal.

200 fatigue brochures and KitKat packs were distributed in Raglan at WDC office, campgrounds and motel with the message“Don’t drive tired”.

Wainui consent lodged 17/12/2025, a request for further information Watercare and our consultants will respond
The new MABRs at Raglan sewage works were inspected following 6 months of operation to adjust the depth for improved performance and assess the buildup of biology on the fibres. This will be done on an ongoing basis.
At Smith St, contractor pricing has been requested for the proposed wastewater pump rising main replacement.
Marine Parade Pump Station – engagement is underway to investigate options
Raglan Reservoir: Scoping for a new location is ongoing.
Interceptor Device Upgrade at AroAro is postponed due to constructability issues and costs. The remaining budget will be utilised for emergency flood mitigation work in Raglan, which will benefit 13 properties on Karioi Cres
15/07/2026 Workshop: Long Term Plan 1st interation
Parks aiming for $1.5–$2m savings on $10,033,912 operating budget. Waters – “Under investment legacy needs to be reversed. . . Clarify risks in not providing service due to insufficient budget.” Roads “Historical underspend on renewals in recent years at around 3% of asset replacement value per year, should be circa 6%+” Projects may include Wainui Rd Bridge Average p.a. roading investment $120.9m to $50m
