Share the joys of surfing the sandy beach breaks of Raglan New Zealand’s Ngarunui Beach with the Raglan Surfing School who have been doing this for many moons!  The experienced, qualified and friendly crew do their utmost to give you a fun, memorable surfing lesson adventure, getting you up and riding the waves and ultimately experiencing that surfers feeling!  They have beginner lessons running every day with no minimum numbers needed and great value family beginner surfing lesson rates from $69 per person (2 person min).   Each comprehensive lesson runs for 3 hours.  They also have a fabulous range of surf and accommodation packages.   And the Double Dare Deal gives beginner surf lesson participants the chance to include a 2 hr sunset harbour cruise onboard the Wahinemoe Cruise boat to their day for only $99 per adult ($69 per child).

Raglan Surf School caters to all level of surfers with lots of exciting and fun options from group learner surfing lessons for the complete beginner, private one-on-one lessons for intermediate surfers through to advanced coaching.   And there are surf ‘n stay packages for keen travellers needing lessons, equipment and somewhere awesome to stay while in Raglan plus a great range of surf equipment rentals.   These are available directly from the beach in summer and from the Whale Bay, Raglan NZ base in winter.  Other options are holiday youth camps and school group surfing sessions for students or customised surfing sessions at great rates for groups.

BEGINNER SURFING LESSONS

In the surf

Raglan Surf School learn-to-surf lessons run in groups, twice daily in the summer and everyday in the Winter with no minimum numbers needed.  They are designed to give the total beginner or novice surfer all the fundamental skills and knowledge needed.  You’ll then be able to keep practicing surfing on your own.   In addition you’ll learn about ocean awareness, surfing etiquette and water safety.

Experiencing the sheer fun and enjoyment of wave riding is the ultimate goal of these beginner lessons.  Raglan Surf School achieves this through experienced professional instructors, a comprehensive 3-hour lesson  and the innovative system of dry land surfboard training that allows the student to experience surfboard dynamics prior to entering the water.
The 3 hr beginner surfing lesson includes surfboard and wetsuit, full instruction, beach transport, and free Raglan pick up and drop-off.  Individual rate $89 per person. Special family rates are available from $69 per person (minimum 2 people).  Please enquire for group rates.  Booking’s essential.

DOUBLE DARE DEAL!
You haven’t seen Raglan until you’ve seen it from the water!  All Raglan Surfing School participants have the opportunity to upgrade their beginner surfing lesson to the ‘DOUBLE DARE DEAL’ which includes the 3 hr beginner surfing lesson plus the 2 hr sunset BBQ harbour cruise onboard the Wahinemoe for only $99 per adult and $69 per child.  Surfing equipment, beach transport, pickups and drop-offs and BBQ sub-sandwich on the boat are included in this deal!!!

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are tailored to meet the individual’s needs, from a beginner through to an advanced surfer. They are especially good for someone who has surfed for a while and is looking to progress to their next level of expertise. Private one-on-one lessons are $149. Private lessons for 2 people are $129 per person. All private lessons include:

  • 3 hour lesson designed for your needs
  • Board and full length wetsuit hire
  • Free pick up from Raglan town and beach transportation
  • Free after surf sauna (for afternoon lesson only)

SURFING PACKAGES

Raglan Surf School has a wide variety of 2-5 day surfing packages on offer for surfers of all levels. Depending on your requirements our packages can include multiple surfing lessons, share or luxury accommodation, campervan accommodation in the Karioi Lodge bush reserve, a few kilometres south of Raglan, New Zealand with powered sites, handy facilities, a wide range of surf equipment rental for surfing with or without supervision, all equipment and beach/town transportation, plus you can add other fun Raglan activities such as boat cruising on the Raglan harbour, horse riding on the beach, exploring on a kayak or a local massage – all with discounted package rates.

GROUPS

Ideal adventure for groups

Learning to surf is ideal for a group of people wanting a thrilling adventurous outdoor activity to get amongst in Raglan, NZ. Be it for special occasions, family gatherings, schools, clubs, team building, or staff outings, getting out into the surf and becoming refreshingly wet is a great experience.  Sharing the excitement and challenge of standing up and riding the waves is guaranteed to generate lots of smiles and to invigorate the soul!
The Raglan Surfing School’s vast experience in teaching groups of people to surf combined with awesome equipment and friendly qualified surf instructors can cater for a broad range of group types, sizes, budgets and needs. They tailor great value packages for groups which can include accommodation, multi-lessons, surf equipment hire and other awesome adventure activities.  All group bookings are essential and require a 20% deposit to book.  Please call Raglan Surfing School to discuss your group’s specific requirements.

YOUTH CAMPS

The main focus of the Raglan Surf School youth camp is a  FUN, SURFING ADVENTURE in the school holidays in Raglan, New Zealand. The camps are held annually at the end of the last school term for students 10 years plus for all surfing levels.  This popular camp with many returning students year after year includes 24 hr adult supervision, daily meals, accommodation, full surf instruction by qualified surf coaches and trained life-guards, use of a board and wetsuit plus beach and town transportation.
