Tourist finds human remains south of Raglan

A tourist notified police he had found what appears to be human remains on the coastline near the rocks close to Ruapuke Motor Camp, south of Raglan about 11.15am on this morning (Thursday), police said.

District Field Crime Supervisor, Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Whitehead said they were currently working to establish the exact nature of the remains and bring in specialist recovery staff.  Raglan Police are currently working to recover what is believed to be human remains found on the coast near Raglan.

“We will be working with the intent to recover the remains and identifying them and at this stage it would be premature to speculate any further on the matter,” he said.
