COUNCIL INVESTIGATES OVERFLOW AT RAGLAN WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
Waikato District Council has launched a full investigation into a wastewater overflow at Raglan’s Wastewater Treatment Plant last month.
Indications are that a substantial amount of partially treated wastewater overflowed from the pond into a tidal tributary of the Raglan Harbour.
Waikato District Council Service Delivery Manager Tim Harty says “We’re disappointed this incident has occurred and have met with iwi and key stakeholders to apologise for the situation. We have also engaged an independent consultant to complete a full investigation into the cause of the overflow.”
Waikato Regional Council has received a full incident report regarding the overflow and has confirmed they are also investigating the incident.
