With less than a week to the close-off date on Friday 16th August, there are still no nominations for the Raglan Community Board in this year’s Local Government elections. Information provided to Raglan 23 by Waikato District Council indicates that although there is now one nomination for the position of Raglan Ward Councillor from Clint Baddeley, there aren’t any nominations at all for the Raglan Community Board. And nominations across the Waikato District are low for Community Board members with only five received so far.
Meanwhile over at the Regional Council there are just two nominations (Peter Buckley and Theresa Stark) for the two Waikato General positions that Raglan residents vote for.
I see only 9 of the WDC wards are on their nomination form website (http://waidc.govt.nz/Your-Council/Elections/Nomination-Papers-2013.aspx). Raglan is among those missing! Is that to ensure Clint remains the only nomination?
I also see Bob and Linda have got their nominations in, but no other Community Board members.
