HEB Construction were busy working in the rain on Friday on the 5th of seven piers for the Kopua footbridge. The bridge deck beams are also being cast this month. The $3.1 million bridge is being built by HEB Structures for the Waikato District Council. It is wider than the old bridge and will allow pedestrians and cyclist to pass on the bridge. The new bridge is being built to the north of the present bridge. It is expected that the bridge will be completed in September this year.
