The Representation Commission’s report on the final electoral districts to be used for the next two general elections was presented to the Governor-General on Thursday morning. There are no changes that affect Raglan. So for the General electorates we are still stuck in Taranaki- King Country and for the Maori electorates we are in Hauraki Waikato. (See Map)
There were some changes made to the boundary with Hamilton West losing population from the western rural side to Taranaki-King Country and gaining population from Hamilton East and Waikato at Horsham Downs.
Seems strange that we are in this weirdly configured electorate when the key vote is the MMP vote and these days if an electorate vote goes to one party or the other it doesn’t matter too much.
