Raglan Community Board Agenda

The Community Board meets this Tuesday (9 August) at 1.30pm in the Raglan Town Hall Supper Room. The public forum starts at 1pm, giving an opportunity to discuss issues, but you can also talk to, or email the Community Board members.

The Community Board agenda (at http://www.waikatodistrict.govt.nz/Your-Council/Meetings/Community-boards/Raglan.aspx) includes:-

1.     Water meter charging for all houses will start in July 2013. Installation begins this year in Raglan West, Lorenzen Bay and Greenslade Rd.

2.     skatebowl extension begins October.

3.     2 new car park spaces are to be provided outside the Surf Shop on Wainui Rd. This will offset the loss of 2 or more spaces as a result of the pedestrian crossing upgrades on Bow St.

4.     3 tenders for the new Raglan museum and information centre are being looked at. There is doubt over how to replace $100,000 withdrawn by St Lazarus Trust.

5.     Bow St toilet delayed until museum project starts.

6.     CRM report April-June shows 82% of reports were dealt with within time targets, but overdue action included a fire hazard and 2 without water supply.

7.     WDC energy use to be monitored with Ebench.

8.     Turnover at Raglan Kopua Holiday Park exceeded $1m for the first time this year, up 14% on last year. Some of the surplus may be used to build a multi purpose sports hall.

9.     Bus stop in Norrie Ave – “vehicles travelling in the same direction and at the same time as the bus will have to wait behind until the bus moves away.” $3,400 new livery suggested for the Raglan bus includes a picture of children jumping off the footbridge.

10.  Manu Bay tide gauge to be in cabinet 1.2m x 1.2m square by 2m high with 80m alkathene pipe to breakwater.

11.   At the end of the financial year $9,178 left in the community fund.

12.  Council planners offered to be present at the meeting to discuss the proposed Raglan Structure Plan, but it seems RCB has rejected the offer!

13.  Scout hall – “A meeting between the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and the Facilities Manager is to be scheduled in August.”.

14.  Sewage pipe to sea delayed slightly “due to alignment issues and inclement weather”.

15.  Replacement of the Wainui Bridge water main is progressing well.

16.  Keep New Zealand Beautiful Clean Up Week 17-24 September.
