Roman Rudnytsky is an American concert pianist of Ukrainian origin. Born in New York, he is a graduate of the city’s famous Juilliard School. He is back in Raglan on the 20th November with a classical piano concert. Roman has played concerts in 100 countries and on about 80 cruises of Cunard and P&O (UK) ships. He has been soloist with many orchestras around the world. Between 1984 and the pandemic, he played concerts and conducted masterclasses for local piano students and teachers in 52 countries through US Embassies and Consulates as a kind of “cultural ambassador”. Earlier in his career he was a prizewinner in ten international and national piano competitions.
He was also a university professor of piano and music for many years and, after retirement from that in 2011, was awarded the title “Professor Emeritus). Roman Rudnytsky has played many recitals in various towns in New Zealand since his first ones in the 1980s. He has played in Raglan before. His current NZ tour (his 14th) consists of eight recitals
