Nicola Laboyrie: Meet the candidates – October Local Govt election

Second in a series on the candidates that Raglanites can vote for in the October Local Govt election

Nicola Laboyrie standing for Whāingaroa Ward councillor

My husband Aaron and I are beef farmers, I am a mother to Finn and Estelle, and have lived in the district for over 30 years. I believe Council’s top priority must be delivering real value for ratepayers by sticking to core services. Every project should have careful cost-benefit analysis, with ratepayers’ interests and consent central to decisions. I have experience in holding Council accountable and will ask difficult questions if needed.

I am committed to transparency, simple communication, and working collaboratively to address our district’s issues. My involvement in community initiatives has given me insight into the unique needs across the Waikato District. I hold a Master of Management Studies from Waikato University and teaching qualifications, ensuring I bring practical knowledge, skills and dedication to effective Council service.

If elected, I will focus on responsible decision-making and making sure every dollar spent benefits our communities.
