A bike ride just for kids! Nau mai, haere mai!
We are hosting the 1st Annual Kids Karioi Classic bike ride for children aged 5-13. Please join us for a fun bike ride on Sunday, 20th July 2014 at 10am. To register you must complete a registration form and pay the $5 entry fee. You can register at the Cyclery Raglan, in Bankart Street, anytime between now and the event. Or, register on the day at the Raglan Fire Station between 8am & 9 am. You can get registration forms from Keri (contact info below), at Trade Aid, and at the bike shop.
Here are the details of the ride:
The bike ride will start and finish at Te Kopua Domain. The ride for 5-10 year olds is 4km (a fun ride through the camp ground, over the aerodrome, and finishing at the BMX track). The ride for 11-13 year olds is 8km, a double distance. The track will be well marked, and we will have marshals in place for the entire ride. Categories of riders will be 5 & 6, 7 & 8, 9 & 10, and 11-13 year olds and riders will begin according to age, meaning that 5 & 6 year olds will ride with other 5 & 6 year olds.
Be sure to register early so we can contact you for the training ride scheduled for Sunday 13 July. Don’t miss out! And, tell your parents that they can get involved too! We need help on the day with supporting riders & marshalling.
All bike riders must have a helmet, shoes, and a bike. If you need help getting your bike in working order, go see Dirk at the Cyclery Raglan bike shop.
