Although Karioi was hidden and higher Te Mata properties started the day with a light drizzle, it soon cleared to a brilliant sunny day. Sunday 28th was then a great day for the Te Mata School Garden Ramble. A large number of visitors called on the 11 properties from Waitetuna across to Ruapuke. And many paused in Teresa & Gavin Hayes garden for some home-made lemonade, club sandwiches and cakes.
Like many of the gardens the artwork at Brenda Lichtwark and Nigel Stiles garden added an interesting touch set off by the backdrop of the inner harbour on one side and Mount Karioi on the other.
