“Eight years in the making, this evocatively-shot biopic, showcasing a magnificent central performance from Winslet, is slightly let down by a somewhat unnecessary and scrambled frame tale (that even resorts to a twist-upon-a-twist).” – 3.5/5 James Croot Stuff/ Waikato Times

Feb 1: Movie – THE CRITIC

Ian McKellen, Gemma Arterton and Mark Strong star in The Critic, a story of ambition, blackmail and desire with a dazzling anti-hero at its dark heart. A whodunnit wrapped in a Faustian pact which winds tighter and tighter.

“A pitch-perfect, provocative period thriller, one that might be a little broad for some tastes, but which certainly showcases the brilliance (and mischievousness) of McKellen, but also a terrific Gemma Arterton and an impressive ensemble that includes Mark Strong, Lesley Manville, Romola Garai, Alfred Enoch and Ben Barnes.” – 4.5/5 James Croot THE PRESS
