Update 6th May
Due to fog on Sunday night, we were only able to complete two water-cutting sites.
On Monday night, weather permitting we will be on SH23 starting at Wallace Road and heading towards Te Pahu Road intersection.
Stop/Go traffic management will be in place, with speed restrictions.
Fulton Hogan News
As part of our ongoing road maintenance commitment, we will soon be carrying out water-cutting work on SH23 between Hamilton and Raglan.
Water-cutting involves removing the excess binder (bitumen) from the road, which in the wet can cause a slick surface. By removing the binder we expose the stone surface and edges, giving vehicles using the road more grip in wet situations, making our roads safer.
There are numerous sites that we will be completing, with working taking place during the night with traffic management in place.
Each area will have a general TREIS alert generated. To keep up-to-date and to see where we are working, please visit the NZTA Travel info website:

This Sunday we will be starting on the outskirts of Hamilton and heading towards Te Pahu Road intersection, weather permitting.
If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our offices.
