At its June meeting the Raglan Community Board decided that, “The Board will hold a workshop on the second Tuesday in July to discuss Plan Change 14 – Raglan Rezoning and to consider the Playground Strategy.”
There seems some confusion though as to whether this workshop is open to the community or not.
John Lawson raised the status of the meeting with Board member, Bob MacLeod, saying, “I thought the whole point was to get informal community feedback. As it’s not been advertised that’s not likely to happen even if we are allowed in. So I hope you might ask for a properly advertised workshop to do what this was originally intended to do.” Bob indicated that he had been told by Board Chair Linda Cole that, “There is confusion whether it is open or closed”.
Late John Lawson was told that WDC GM Tony Whittaker had asked for it to be a closed meeting, but the Board members haven’t been asked to agree. John said, “That seems odd, as I thought it was Tony who was asking for it to be a meeting with the wider community.”
And it is the Raglan Community Board that should decide whether a workshop should be Board only!

Goodness me!!!!! Who is our elected council serving?
