The Raglan Four Square was first off the mark this year with Christmas lights in Raglan’s main street. In 2009 the only Christmas lights in Raglan’s main street were those erected by the Raglan Four Square and other retailers, after the old community board pulled the plug on them.
But this year Christmas lights are going up on lamp standards in and around Bow Street today (Saturday). The new Raglan Community Board welcomed and accepted an offer by Meridian Energy to purchase new Christmas lights and work with the Community Board putting them up in the Raglan CBD. The lights were put up today by contractor WEL Networks under the watchful eye of Community Board member Bob McLeod with Laurie Coxhead from the Fire Rescue vehicle looking after traffic management.
Thanks Meridian and Raglan Fire Rescue Support.
