Broadband continued to provide surprises for some users after last week’s ‘upgrade’ disrupted service for many Raglan broadband users. Many callers to Telecom who complained long and hard were told that they would be sent a free new modem that would fix everything. One Telecom user told The Raglan Website that when her ‘free’ modem arrived it had a hefty bill packed in with it. But she was grateful that after days without service, her broadband was working once more with the new modem.
Xnet, the ISP providing service to the Old School Arts Centre has taken a positive step and advised the Raglan Arts Council that they will receive a month’s credit on their broadband bill. Â Arts Council Chair, Rodger Gallagher said that it was great that the company had apologised and the koha made the apology tangible. He said, ‘I haven’t seen any sign of the free modem promised by Telecom though, but we are happy with the interim service and don’t need the modem now.’
