Raglan Chamber of Commerce People Skills Training
People Skills – 15 April 2014
Let’s face it, unless you live in a box in a cave somewhere you’re going to come into contact with other people. If you’ve ever had a conflict with someone, been misunderstood or been unable to understand someone else’s response to you, you’ll know that dealing with people can sometimes be fraught with difficulty!
You know how to talk and write. But you also know that successfully communicating involves a LOT more than just talking and writing! Whether you’re a business owner, an employee, a parent, partner or teacher, effective people skills are vital for success.
In this 4-hour interactive workshop you’ll learn how:
- To really connect with people and develop trust
- Your mind is constantly filtering – and how this impacts your responses
- Communication is not linear but circular – operating as a feedback loop
- To avoid the barriers to effective communication
- To listen so people will talk
- To talk so people will listen
