Denise Irvine, a journalist for the Waikato Times, has been out to Raglan once more and this time she has discovered Raglan Fish on Raglan Wharf at the end of Wallis St. In an article in Your Weekend, published with the Times on Saturday July 20th, Denise writes about ordering some gurnard fresh off the trawlers, for her fish and chips and having it cooked by Jordan Newberry. A large part of the article covers Jordan’s infectious enthusiasm.
The meal, eaten at sunny table on the wharf, was appreciated with Denise saying, ‘The delicate, silky fleshed gurnard and crispy batter work perfectly together’. The batter is made with the ‘Secret Raglan Fish Recipe’.
