Tension is building for Whaingaroa’s own film makers and stars as the Raglan Arts Film Festival Awards night on the evening of Saturday 24 September for the Raglan Arts Film Festival Awards approaches. This glamour event includes the Award ceremony and dinner. Celebrity guest will include Micah Puklowski, Maryann Tuao, Clive Neeson, Aroha Yates-Smith, Andre Ngapo, Miromiro Kelly-Hepi Te Huia, Winiata Hunia, Tamihana Moko, Turanga Kereopa, Ariana Brunet, and Whaingaroa Youth Movement

This year there are eleven RAFFA nominees including both shorts and feature films. The nominees are:

Micah Puklowski – Director ‘Heroines’

Maryann Tuao – Producer ‘The New Generation’

Clive Neeson – Producer, Director ‘Last Paradise’

Andre Ngapo, Miromiro Kelly-Hepi Te Huia, Winiata Hunia Directors for 3 movies: ‘Karioi’, ‘Te Ataiorongo’, ‘Mana Motuhake’,

Tamihana Moko – Actor ‘Te Ataiorongo’

Turanga Kereopa – Director ‘Watch Me Grow’

Ariana Brunet – Actress ‘The Deviation’ + ‘Swan Song’

Whaingaroa Youth Movement – Producer ‘Wonderful Underland’

Kathleen Gallagher – Director ‘Water Whisperers Tangaroa’

The RAFFA award winners will screen on the night and also on Sunday 25th September at 1.30pm and 3.00pm.  Short films will screen in full with excerpts for feature films.

Cash bar, snacks and beverages on sale for all Film Festival showings. Bookings advised for sessions likely to attract big numbers.
