Watercare will carry out wastewater upgrade works at the Stewart Street/Wainui Road intersection from Monday 27 July through to 30 September 2026.
The intersection will be closed for the entire period. Stewart Street and Wainui Road will stay open, but drivers will need to follow the detours and traffic management in place. Short delays of up to five minutes are expected.
Nearby residents and businesses will receive a letter drop, and advance notice is currently displayed on a roadside illuminated sign display. A district-wide Facebook post and an Antenno notification will be issued on Friday.
Raglan Arts Centre advises: Access to the Old School
From Monday 27 July – Friday 14 August the Wainui Road end of Stewart St will be closed to vehicles – the Old School will remain open and all events will go ahead.
Pedestrians and bicycles will have access from Wainui Road at all times. The middle and top of Stewart St will remain open with vehicle access to Stewart St via signposted diversions.
From the town centre, access is via Gilmour St. From Raglan West via Whitley Street and Norrie Avenue. This map shows the closed area in red, pedestrian access in pink and vehicle access in green.
