Councillor Thomson retains Whāingaroa

Progress results now available for the 2025 Local Body election, show that Councillor Lisa Thomson has retained the position of councillor for Whāingaroa.These results reflect 90% of counted votes and will be updated as more data comes in. The progress results include all votes received prior to election day 11 October, and excludes special votes.

Lisa Thomson had 813 votes while Nicola Laboyrie had 506 votes. For the Tai Runga Takiwaa Maaori Ward Councillor Tilly Turner was elected unopposed.

  • Preliminary results are expected late on Sunday 12 October. Final results and confirmation of will come next week by 18 October.

The results for the Raglan Community Board with 6 vacancies were:

For the Maaori Wards Poll the results so far are:

  • I vote to KEEP Maaori wards – 7385
  • I vote to REMOVE Maaori wards – 8553

For WRC’s Waikato general constituency with 2 vacancies the results so far are:
